BAYERN MAKE ENQUIRY FOR MITROVIC

German champions Bayern Munich have made an enquiry for in-form Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic. This is according to the report from the stables of English media portalTEAMtalk. It was revealed that the Bavarian giants are one of several teams who have been told that Mitrovic is not for sale.

A recent report from Spanish media portal Fichajes also stated that Europa League champions Villarreal are keen on a move for Mitrovic and that they are hopeful that a €16m offer would be enough to tempt the Serbian international away from Fulham who are bidding to return to the Premier League next season after one season in the English Championship. The Cottagers were one of the three teams who were demoted from the English top flight last season alongside West Brom and Sheffield United. Fulham are on course to pick one of the two automatic spots available for Premier League promotion as they are the leading team in the Championship at the moment with a one-point lead over Bournemouth at the summit.

Villarreal want to sign Mitrovic in the winter transfer window next month. The Serbian has 21 goals in 19 Championship appearances this season to emerge as the leading goalscorer in the division. He has also provided five assists.

Apart from Bayern Munich and Villarreal, other European teams keen to sign Mitrovic include French champions Lille, Italian Serie A outfit Fiorentina, Italian giants Juventus and Spanish champions Atletico Madrid.

Poland international Robert Lewandowski is the undisputed central striker at Bayern Munich, though his long-term future at the club is far from sorted as he has less than two years to run on his contract. Mitrovic could be the perfect man to take his spot at the Allianz Arena if he were to leave the club amidst new transfer rumours linking him with Real Madrid.
